12 years later, Splinter Cell: Blacklist has finally received an achievement on Steam
It's unbelievable but true: almost 12 years after its release, the spy action game Splinter Cell: Blacklist finally has Steam achievement support.
Here's What We Know
On the game's Steam page, the company also announced that it has "removed 19 achievements that required online services that are no longer available for the game". Thus, players can still get 100% of the achievements in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, a game that was first released in August 2013 on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
The addition of Steam achievements to Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a pleasant surprise for fans of the series, who will now be able to experience this classic stealth game in a new way.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist is now the latest instalment in the main stealth series. In December 2021, Ubisoft announced a remake of Splinter Cell starring Sam Fisher. It is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto, which previously created Blacklist and Far Cry 6 (2021). For the 20th anniversary of the Splinter Cell series in 2022, several new details of the remake were revealed, including concept art and new AI behaviour of enemies. However, since then, there has been relatively little information.
At one point, a Splinter Cell VR game was in development, but it was cancelled in 2022. Later that year, an eight-episode Splinter Cell audio series was released. In addition, the free-to-play shooter XDefiant has a Splinter Cell faction, but its support will be discontinued in June.
Last year, the Splinter Cell film, in which Tom Hardy could have played Sam Fisher, was cancelled. However, the stealth franchise will still appear on TV screens in the upcoming Netflix series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
