According to the information, Apple has completed the engineering verification testing (EVT) phase for at least one iPhone 17 model, which was published by DigiTimes in a paid announcement.

Here's What We Know

The EVT stage involves testing iPhone 17 prototypes to verify the correct operation of the hardware. Although this stage is important, it is not the end of the testing: there are still DVT (Design Validation Test) and PVT (Production Validation Test) stages ahead, after which the devices will go into mass production.

This step is a routine but important milestone for Apple, which is being completed on the eve of the iPhone 17 series launch, traditionally scheduled for September.

After the EVT is completed, there will still be room for Apple to make minor changes to the iPhone's specifications, if necessary. In particular, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said that the company will make a final decision on the amount of RAM in the base model of the iPhone 17 by May. Kuo suggests that the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models will receive 12GB of RAM.

Recently, insiders reported that Apple had abandoned the anti-reflective coating for the iPhone 17 Pro. The coating was to be introduced only on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which would have made them the first iPhones with an anti-reflective display. However, Apple ran into problems at the stage of scaling up the coating process.
