Wargaming has unveiled the first season of its original free-to-play hero mech game Steel Hunters, which combines elements of Battle Royale and Extraction shooter. This season marks the debut of a new horned Hunter named Taurus, as well as a fresh set of cosmetic items and significant gameplay improvements developed based on community feedback.

Here's What We Know

Armed with a devastating Bull Attack and a powerful Heavy Shotgun, Taurus bursts onto the battlefield full of unbridled fury. Built for close combat, he has the strength and arsenal to take on any opponent face to face. Pain is nothing to him, the main thing for Taurus is the adrenaline of battle. Players will be able to unlock this raging bull with Pro and Premium Battle Passes, which can be purchased with Platinum, an in-game currency that can be easily earned by completing combat missions.

In this new season, the development team continues to maintain close ties with the community, actively involving players in the shaping and development of the game through their feedback. This approach has resulted in a number of important updates to the game:

  • Optimised HUD: The game interface has been redesigned and simplified to improve readability and reduce visual noise on the screen.
  • Unique nodes of the skill tree have been expanded: The cost of credits for unique nodes has been reduced by 50%, making them more affordable for players. All credits spent on these nodes before the update will be fully refunded.
  • Clearer match progress indicators: For a better understanding of the impact of upgrades and level progression during combat, the visibility of the relevant indicators has been significantly improved.
  • Faster ammo reloading: Ammo reloading time has been accelerated, especially when players are running low on magazines.
  • Improved melee combat: Melee attack recovery time and range have been adjusted to make melee combat less restrictive and more dynamic.
  • Heatbreaker rebalancing: To improve teamwork, the railgun and sonar pulse of this Hunter have been updated, including an increase in the power of the targeting fire and the addition of a useful support tool to the sonar pulse.

The first season of Steel Hunters is now available, so get your mechs ready and head to the arena to experience the new features and meet the fury of Taurus.
