It seems that the long-awaited release of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5 has already brought Microsoft a good number of new players to the huge arcade racing game. Users of the ResetEra forum managed to take a screenshot of the game's leaderboard about 12 hours before its early access on Sony's console last week, on 25 April. At that time, the counter showed about 45.1 million players.

Here's What We Know

But the most interesting thing happened next. After the first day since the full release of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, the number of players increased to 45.8 million. This means that about 700 thousand new racers joined the game thanks to the PlayStation port.

Of course, it is worth noting that this data is not absolutely accurate. It is quite possible that part of the increase is due to new players on Xbox and PC. However, it is logical to assume that the bulk of new users are owners of the newly released PS5 version.

Nevertheless, these figures give us a fairly clear picture of the success of porting a game to a new platform. It is very likely that Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation will sell at least one million copies in the next few weeks, which is a great result for a game that is already four years old. Of course, final conclusions can only be drawn after the official data from Microsoft, but it already looks like this port will be a big hit.
