Poland to buy 400 AIM-120D-3 AMRAAM missiles for more than a billion dollars
The United States has agreed to sell Poland the latest AIM-120D-3 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, which will enhance its aviation capabilities, in particular for F-16 and F-35 fighters.
Here's What We Know
The US Department of State has approved the export of up to 400 AIM-120D-3 AMRAAM missiles to Poland, which are capable of hitting air targets at a distance of over 150 km. Along with the missiles, the deal includes the supply of guidance modules, test equipment, containers, spare parts and logistics support.
The total value of the potential deal is $1.33 billion, but its exact terms are yet to be agreed upon at the intergovernmental level.

The missiles are expected to be fitted to F-16C/D Jastrząb and F-35A Husarz aircraft. Deliveries may begin no earlier than 2030-2031. The main contractor will be RTX Corporation (Raytheon Technologies). Overall, Poland will be one of the first countries to receive these missiles in the latest modification, which will increase its defence capability and technical compatibility with NATO forces.
