Raw Ring is a gadget equipped with sensitive sensors that can track skin temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and a range of other data. Once the indicators are updated, the AI analyses them and displays the emotional state of the partner, which is further indicated by the ring's backlighting: green means joy, blue means peace, and pink means stress. The manufacturer claims that after two weeks of calibration, the AI will determine a person's emotions with 87 per cent accuracy.
The author of the Raw Ring idea, Marina Anderson, believes that AI will help strengthen relationships, but the gadget is causing a lot of controversy about its ethics, invasion of privacy, overt surveillance and potential to cause conflict. However, it is claimed that users can control what information is shared.
The cost of the Raw Ring device is not yet known.
