Not only Bloomberg: iOS 19 will offer a major interface update to Apple's gadgets its gadgets, but Android users seem to be in for a major update.

Here's What We Know

Android Authority journalist Mishaal Rahman took a look at the hidden features and innovations in Android 16 Beta 4 and found significant updates to the operating system's interface elements.

Most likely, they will not appear during the final release of Android 16 and will be released in the next versions of the OS.

So, Mishaal Rahman has revealed the following:

• Wi-Fi and cellular network indicators will become segmented and the battery icon will be highlighted in green while charging;
• the quick settings and notifications bar will get a semi-transparent background, with the ability to customise the size of shortcuts and a separate segment for Wi-Fi;
• blurred backgrounds on system screens, including the recent apps menu, the list of all apps in the Pixel Launcher, and the PIN input screen;
• date and weather indicators on the lock screen will move below the clock, and incoming notifications will be displayed in a small button so as not to overlap the wallpaper;
• volume and brightness sliders will become thinner and less rounded;
• icons on the main settings screen will become coloured and individual options in submenus will be grouped together;
• the ability to customise the shape of icons in the Pixel Launcher will return.

Google will likely reveal the details of the UI changes at The Android Show event on 13 May.
