Intel could change the gaming laptop market: the company is preparing a line of Panther Lake chips that will allow you to run top games without graphics cards
Intel may soon release a new line of Panther Lake processors that will be aimed at gamer laptops.
Here's What We Know
An insider under the nickname meng reported that the first Panther Lake processor will be released as early as this year. It will have four high-performance Cougar Cove cores and eight energy-efficient Darkmont cores, which will provide high performance and balance power consumption. Four Xe3 cores will be responsible for graphics display, and they will be able to run demanding games without a separate graphics card. The power consumption of such a processor will be 45W, which is more than chips for ultra-thin notebooks, but is standard for powerful gaming computers.
In 2026, Intel will release other processors in the Panther Lake line, which could get up to 12 Xe3 cores and reduced power consumption (about 15-25W) by adding four ultra-efficient LP-E cores.
Notebook makers are expected to start testing Panther Lake in the second half of 2025, with the first models with the new chip expected to go on sale by the end of the year.
Intel has not yet disclosed its plans for Panther Lake, but it is clear that the lineup is being created with gamers in mind and to strengthen competition with AMD.
