An unexpected and interesting announcement was made by the Indian studio TARA GAMING LIMITED. The young company immediately swung on the game of AAA level and presented its debut project The Age of Bhaarat.

Here's What We Know

The Age of Bhaarat is positioned as an ambitious adventure action game with RPG elements, the events of which unfold in the world of Indian fantasy.

The main feature of the game should be a dynamic and deep combat system, which, judging by the announcement trailer, looks a lot like the Chinese hit Black Myth: Wukong, but instead of a staff the protagonist wields a spear.

TARA GAMING LIMITED's press release describes the game this way:

The Age of Bhaarat is a landmark project that aims to bring India to the global video game arena. Although India is famous for its culture and legendary lore, its impact on the gaming industry has gone largely unnoticed. TARA GAMING LIMITED aims to change that by combining the country's creative potential with the ability to produce AAA-level games. The concept is based on the idea of expanding the potential of indie creators and bridging the gap between the modern gaming industry and stories based on the country's cultural traditions. The trailer shows breathtaking landscapes, mythical beasts, mighty warriors and a multi-layered narrative, all united by cinematic grace and technical excellence. Drawing on epic tales, folklore and tradition, The Age of Bhaarat is a true AAA game that marks a key milestone in the development of the Indian gaming industry.

The protagonist of The Age of Bhaarat will be a Forest Guardian who uses mystical weapons and magic to defend his homeland from a devastating invasion of Rakshasa demons.

When We Can Expect It

The Age of Bhaarat release date is not yet known. The game is being developed for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and consoles.

Flashback

TARA GAMING LIMITED is a studio founded by Ubisoft veteran Nouredine Abboud, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and popular Indian writer Amish Tripathi.

While the Ubisoft veteran and the Indian writer are not surprising, the presence of an 82-year-old actor in the list of those who will take India to gaming Olympus looks a bit strange.
