Insider: Naughty Dog has cancelled the game it started after abandoning development of The Last of Us Online
At the end of 2023 it became known that Naughty Dog studioInsider: Naughty Dog has cancelled development of a multiplayer project based on The Last of Us universe, and will use the materials created in the full-fledged third part of the series on The Last of Us universe to focus on creating single-player games. One of them was Naughty Dog has finally announced a new game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet about travelling and survival in space , which was announced at The Game Awards 2024, but there were rumours that after the cancellation of TLOU Online the famous studio is working on two more projects.
However, it has now been revealed that one of the projects has also been cancelled.
Here's What We Know
Reputable insider Daniel Richtman revealed on his page on the Patreon platform that Naughty Dog has stopped developing the game, which it started after the cancellation of The Last of Us Online.
Richtman knows that the game had been in development for a little over a year, but due to the fact that the studio's project manager Vinit Agarwal left the studio on 10 January, Naughty Dog decided not to continue development of the unannounced project.
Thus, Naughty Dog is currently working on two games: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and the unannounced project, which is headed by Uncharted: The Lost Legacy creative director Shaun Escayg.
