For the first time in history, a Ukrainian Magura maritime drone destroyed a Russian fighter jet during a battle (video)
Specialists of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine have carried out a brilliant operation and for the first time in the world destroyed an enemy fighter jet with the help of a maritime drone.
Here's What We Know
On 2 May, an unprecedented event in military history took place near the Russian port of Novorossiysk, where the occupiers are trying to hide the remnants of their Black Sea fleet. During the battle, during which a SU-30 multi-role fighter jet attempted to destroy a Ukrainian uncrewed Magura boat, fighters of the Group 13 unit destroyed the aircraft with an accurate hit of a missile launched from the said maritime drone.
In contrast to loud and, as a rule, unsubstantiated statements by representatives of the Russian side, the GUR fighters confirm their information with video footage, which clearly shows the explosion in the air and the fall of the aircraft into the sea.
Ukrainian unmanned developments have once again confirmed their effectiveness, and the enemy Air Force lost another aircraft, the cost of which is estimated at $50 million, which is dozens of times more than the cost of Magura.
Recall, on 31 December 2024, GUR fighters Unique event: during the sea battle Ukrainian crewless boat Magura V5 destroyed an enemy helicopter for the first time in the history of wars (video) in the same way.
