Premium car maker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has resumed vehicle deliveries to the US after being suspended due to US President Donald Trump's duties.

Here's What We Know

Last Wednesday, the first shipments of JLR vehicles in almost a month travelled from the UK to the US. The company told the media that the US remains a key market for its brands, although 25 per cent duties on cars are still in place.

To recall, JLR said in early April that it would suspend deliveries of British-made cars to the US for a month. The pause was necessary for the company to consider ways to mitigate the effects of Trump's duties on imported cars and light trucks, which came into effect on 3 April.

Last Thursday, 1 May, Donald Trump said he would mitigate the impact of the duties with credits of up to 15% of the cost of domestically assembled cars. These could be applied to the cost of imported parts, giving automakers time to rebuild supply chains.
