In its official statement, Genki confirmed that it had received a lawsuit from Nintendo and was already working with legal advisors to prepare a response. Despite the legal difficulties, Genki is not going to stop production or change its plans. The company continues to prepare for the fulfilment of orders already placed and is preparing to present its new products at PAX East this week. As a reminder, the scandal erupted after Genki showed a 3D model of Switch 2 and its accessories before the console was officially announced at CES 2025. Nintendo accused the company of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and false advertising, as well as misleading consumers about the true compatibility of accessories with the new console.
