In a new advert, Google doesn't miss a chance to poke fun at the upcoming iPhone 17, using rumours about its design. In the video, the company points out the similarities between the alleged look of the iPhone 17 and the design that has already become characteristic of the Pixel 9 Pro.

Here's What We Know

According to the leaks, the iPhone 17 Pro may feature a horizontal camera setup, an element that has long been a hallmark of Google Pixel smartphones. The iPhone 17 Air will have a thickness of only 5.5 mm and a 6.6-inch display.

At the same time, iPhone 17 Air models are rumoured to have an even more Pixel-like design, with a thinner camera strip.

The Pixel has cameras arranged in a line, while Apple is likely to keep the triangular lens arrangement, simply placing them in a horizontal block.

The advert is designed as an ironic podcast with a conversation between Pixel and iPhone. The Pixel says hello and introduces the iPhone as its friend. In response, iPhone said good day. Pixel said that there were rumours of a new iPhone design. The latter ironically replied that it imagines it will do the same thing that Pixel did a few years ago.

Google also mentions features that it says appeared in Android earlier: night mode, image cleaning, and widgets. At the end of the video, the iPhone echoes the Pixel, emphasising that this is just a rumour.

In the video's caption, Google adds that you shouldn't repeat everything you see. This isn't the first time the company has poked fun at Apple - it previously joked about the iPhone's transition to USB-C.
