Battlefield Labs opens doors for new testers: DICE expands testing programme for the next Battlefield
DICE is preparing for a large-scale expansion of Battlefield Labs, a unique early testing programme for the next Battlefield, which will attract many more players from Europe, North America and later Asia in May. The developers are actively collecting feedback from the community to make the new shooter as balanced and spectacular as possible before the official release.
Here's What We Know
Battlefield Labs is DICE's most ambitious initiative in collaboration with fans in the history of the series. Since March, only selected players have been allowed to test, but this month the number of participants will increase significantly. Gamers from North America and Europe will be the first to try out the new Battlefield, followed by those from Asia.
It is thanks to the feedback from testers that we managed to achieve smooth shooting with low latency, improve the balance of movement speed (including sprinting, rolling, climbing) and make the destruction of the environment even more tactical and spectacular.
In the coming weeks, DICE will focus on balancing weapons, movement, and further improving the destruction system. The developers emphasise that even if some ideas do not make it to the final version, each experiment helps to better understand what the community values most.
It is known that the new Battlefield will return to the modern setting, and the classic Conquest and Breakthrough modes, as well as the updated class system, have already been confirmed. The game is still at the pre-alpha stage, but everyone can still apply for participation in Battlefield Labs via the official website.
DICE promises to reveal more details about character classes and new game mechanics in the near future. The official full announcement of the game is expected this summer, and the release will take place by April 2026.
