The Lithuanian Ministry of Defence is interested in Ukrainian Magura maritime drones and is considering launching joint production on a 1+1 basis: one unit for Lithuania and another for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by the Minister of Defence of Lithuania Dovilė Šakalienė. According to her, Lithuania is interested in Ukrainian surface attack drones, missile drones and other types of weapons.

"Magura, in my opinion, is an excellent military product," Shakalienė said.

According to her, they are discussing launching production in Lithuania, where they will use the 1+1 scheme: Lithuania will pay for the production of two weapons, one of which will remain in the country and the other will be transferred to Ukraine.

It should be noted that Lithuania has recently allocated €20 million to finance certain projects of the Ukrainian defence industry.

"And we believe that cooperation in certain areas related to missile drones, maritime drones and other technologies is really very promising," Shakalienė said.

Ukrainian Magura maritime drones have proven their effectiveness in the Black Sea, forcing Russian Black Sea Fleet ships to stay away from the open sea. For example, a Magura 7 recently destroyed a Russian Su-30 fighter jet thanks to the American AIM-9 missiles installed on it.
