Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite 2 flagship processor will deliver AI performance of over 100 TOPS: insider reveals chip specs
A reputable Digital Chat Station insider has revealed the specs of Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite 2 mobile processor, which is expected to be unveiled in September 2025.
Here's What We Know
The Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite 2 will be manufactured using TSMC's advanced third-generation 3nm process and will feature an upgraded Adreno 8401 graphics accelerator and a neural processing unit (NPU) with over 100 TOPS - twice as powerful as the Snapdragon X Elite (45 TOPS).
The chip is built on a "2+6" configuration (2 high-performance cores + 6 efficient cores) using Pegasus cores accelerated to 5GHz. Its cache memory will increase to 32MB and performance gains are expected to be 40.7 per cent in the AnTuTu benchmark compared to current flagships.
This chip will focus on advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, including image processing and voice commands with increased efficiency.
The first smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite 2 could arrive as early as October 2025, and Xiaomi could possibly be the first company to release devices based on it.
