Philips has released a new update for its Secure camera range that brings significant improvements to the self-powered models. The update, version 1.2.32.976150, began rolling out to users in early May and is now likely available to all.

Here's What We Know

This update is aimed at improving battery life for devices such as the Secure Battery Camera, which costs $159.99 on Amazon.

The main innovation is improved camera battery life. With fewer accidental activations, devices wake up less often, allowing them to work longer without recharging. In addition, the update optimises the Wi-Fi module: it now goes to sleep faster after changing the channel, which has a positive impact on energy efficiency.

Another important fix fixes a bug that caused some Secure cameras to stop sending events, which will now ensure a consistent notification and update experience for users. This is the second update for Philips Hue Secure cameras in 2025, following a release in March that improved PIR cooling settings and battery efficiency.

Update 1.2.32.976150 will be automatically pushed to compatible devices. Users can check for updates in the Philips Hue app by going to Settings, Software Update, Auto Update to ensure they are using the latest version.

As a reminder, Philips Hue has added a new QR code feature in the latest app update for iOS and Android.
