GTA 6's second trailer garners a record-breaking 475 million views and builds anticipation for the game's release in 2026
After announcing the postponement of GTA 6 to 26 May 2026, Rockstar Games unexpectedly released a second trailer that instantly went viral - the video has already been viewed over 475 million times on various platforms. This is a new record for game trailers and a clear indication of the huge interest in the upcoming blockbuster.
Here's What We Know
The second trailer for GTA 6 reveals the story of two main characters - Jason Duvall and Lucia Caminos, a pair of criminals from sunny but dangerous Vice City. They find themselves in the centre of a large-scale criminal conspiracy that covers the entire fictional state of Leonidas. To survive, they will have to trust each other more than ever before. The video shows vivid scenes of shootouts, chases in various vehicles and the atmosphere of a city reminiscent of Miami.
For comparison, the first trailer, which was released in 2023, garnered 93 million views over the same period and became the largest video launch on YouTube among non-music videos.
GTA 6 has been under development since 2014, and more than a billion dollars have been spent on it. The game is expected to be the most detailed in the series with a huge map, hyper-realistic graphics, smart NPCs and hundreds of licensed music tracks. GTA V, the previous instalment, has grossed around $10 billion in over a decade thanks to constant updates.
