The Polish military has begun installing protective grilles on its rocket and cannon artillery, following Ukraine's experience in fighting kamikaze drones.

Here's What We Know

The 1st Mazurian Artillery Brigade named after General J. Bem published photos of the K9 Thunder self-propelled artillery system and the WR-40 Langusta multiple launch rocket system equipped with protective grilles. The K9 Thunder has additional turret protection on all sides, while the WR-40 Langusta has trapezoidal protection for the launcher, which covers the top and sides.

At the moment, this is only a testing phase, not a massive deployment of such designs. The military is testing the effectiveness of the protection in the face of potential kamikaze attacks.

This decision is in line with the strategy of the Polish Minister of Defence, who stressed the need to adopt Ukraine's experience in the use of drones. Poland plans to actively introduce unmanned technologies, create an army armed with hundreds of thousands of drones, and develop an industrial base for their production.

The minister also stressed the importance of updating the arsenal without creating large stockpiles, as technology is changing rapidly and the army must adapt in real time.
