Apple is actively increasing the use of AI in its services and gadgets and soon Safari browser users will have this option.

Here's What We Know

As part of the court proceedings with Google, Apple Vice President Eddy Cue said that by 2026 the company will implement in Safari AI search.

For this purpose, they plan to use one of the popular models, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. Cue explained that in April 2025, for the first time in 20 years, there was a drop in search traffic in Safari, and Apple believes that the reason for this is that many users have started to turn to AI more often for information.

The US corporation sees this as a global technological shift and believes it needs to keep up with this trend. However, the main default search engine in Apple devices will remain Google.

The exact timeline for the introduction of AI search in Safari has not yet been announced, but the move will be part of Apple's global strategy to adapt to the growing popularity of AI.
