Paradox Interactive announced Europa Universalis V - a next-generation grand strategy game
Masters of grand-strategies from Paradox Interactive held the promised presentation of Project Caesar and, as expected, Europa Universalis V was hidden under the codename.
Here's What We Know
The developer claims that Europa Universalis V will be a serious development of not only the series, but also the whole genre of 4X-strategies.
Spanish division of Paradox Tinto, which is in charge of the game, promises to keep the advantages of the previous parts of Europa Universalis and supplement them with new mechanics and features. Players will once again control an entire state, defining its geopolitical goals, starting wars, making alliances and improving (or worsening) the lives of citizens.
The system of social layers has undergone serious changes, the developers will deepen the interaction between commoners, clergy, nobility and bourgeoisie, and they will need to balance between them and fulfil the requirements of these categories so that they do not rebel and remain loyal.
The game will also introduce a resource called Pops, a unit of population that has individual needs and specialities that affect the economy and stability of the state.
Of course, in Europa Universalis V there will be other significant innovations, about which the developers will tell you gradually.
When We Can Expect It
Europa Universalis V release date is still unknown, but everyone can already read the information on the game's page in Steam.
