How to watch the Android Show before the Google I/O 2025 conference
Google I/O 2025 will take place on 20 May, but before the main conference, Android Show: I/O Edition. This is a separate event dedicated to the Android ecosystem that will showcase upcoming updates of the operating system.
Here's What We Know
The show will start at 1pm ET / 10am PT and will be broadcast on the Android YouTube channel. Although the event will be recorded, users will be able to return to this page to watch it later. In Ukraine, the Android Show will start at 20:00.
It is expected that the Android Show will showcase new features of Android 16, including an updated interface, notification bar, Live Activities feature for tracking events, and a "Desktop Mode" feature similar to Samsung DeX. In addition, Google accidentally published a post about Material 3 Expressive but quickly deleted it, which made it clear what changes are coming.
The main presentation of Google I/O will start on 20 May and will cover a variety of updates, including news about Search, Google Workspace, and the Gemini project, which is likely to be the central theme of the conference. News about Android XR and new experiments such as Project Astra may also be announced.
The company announced that the regular Google I/O developer conference will take place on 20-21 May 2025 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, which is located near Google's headquarters.
