Yesterday, Hangar 13 released the first trailer with the gameplay of Mafia: The Old Country, announcing the opening of pre-order with exclusive bonuses. The game, which is a prequel to the legendary series, is scheduled for release on 8 August.

Here's What We Know

However, attentive fans have noticed an important detail on the official 2K website: the new part of the series will not have an open world, as it was in Mafia III (2016). Instead, Mafia: The Old Country will be a linear, story-oriented game - a decision that is already causing discussion among players.

The game will be set at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries in Sicily. Players will be offered to take on the role of Enzo, a young criminal who is just starting out in the world of the Mafia.

Despite the fact that Mafia III has received positive reviews for its large world and additional content after the patches, the new game promises a more concentrated story, which, according to the developers, should be more accessible to those who do not have much free time. However, not everyone will like this format change.

Where To Play

Mafia: The Old Country will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
