Electronic Arts has no plans to raise prices for its games (for now)
During the latest report to investors, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said that the company has no plans to raise prices for its games.
Here's What We Know
Answering the question about the possibility of following the example of Nintendo, which set the price of $80 for its upcoming game Mario Kart World, Wilson stressed that the digital transformation of the industry allowed EA to adapt and develop a flexible pricing model.
According to Wilson, the modern gaming business model is significantly different from the one that existed ten years ago. Sales of physical copies are no longer the main source of income, and the company covers a wide range of price segments - from free-to-play projects to expensive deluxe editions. He emphasised that EA's key goal remains to provide players with high quality and tangible value regardless of the cost of the product.
EA's CFO Stuart Canfield added that the company does not foresee any changes to its current pricing strategy. This means that the upcoming releases of Madden NFL 26 and EA Sports FC 26 will retain the recommended retail price of $70, unlike the increased prices of competitors.
