11 bit studios has announced a major update for Frostpunk 2, which is already available on PC. One of the main novelties is a new map for the Utopia Builder mode - The Pit, which allows players to build a city around the place where the generator was once supposed to be built.

Here's What We Know

The update also introduces additional Tales from the Frostland challenges that offer unique quests and stories. Completion of each task unlocks a new monument, but unsuccessful completion will immediately end the game.

The game has also significantly updated its heat management system, including the introduction of local temperatures for each district, which requires a strategic approach to heat distribution. To simplify visualisation, a new Heatmap has been added to monitor temperatures in different areas.

For those who want a less stressful experience, Serenity Mode is back, reducing the difficulty by giving more resources and easing the weather conditions. In addition, there are several new laws, buildings and technologies, as well as a new interface and visual improvements.

Where To Play

Currently, Frostpunk 2 is available only on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), but versions for Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 will be available this summer.
