Hideki Kamiya, the iconic developer known for the Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Viewtiful Joe series, has returned to Capcom after a nearly 20-year hiatus. Now he is focused on the sequel to Ōkami, but he does not rule out the possibility of returning to one of his most famous projects - Devil May Cry.

Here's What We Know

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Kamiya said that he would be happy to work on a remake of the first part of the game from 2001. According to him, the game's design is already significantly outdated in terms of modern standards. The developer added that if he were to work on the remake, he would like to create the game from scratch, using the latest technologies and design approaches.

He emphasised that he usually does not replay his own games, but from time to time he sees Devil May Cry gameplay and understands how much it looks like a product of its time. Nevertheless, there are no official plans for a remake. However, given Capcom's willingness to relaunch its franchises and Kamiya's desire, fans have every reason to hope.
