The US Army has deployed M2A4 Bradley fighting vehicles to Estonia as part of the Immediate Response Package exercise, aimed at demonstrating rapid deployment capabilities in the Baltic region.

Here's What We Know

The operation is being carried out by the 5th Squadron of the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the 1st Armoured Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division.

The deployment took place on Thursday, when one of the M2A4 Bradley fighting vehicles was loaded onto a C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft at Tartu Airport. The exercise is being conducted jointly by the US Army and the US Air Force, as well as with the participation of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom and Estonia. The purpose of the event is to test and demonstrate the ability to rapidly mobilise troops and armoured vehicles at several airfields in the Baltic States.

According to the US Army, the exercise emphasises the ability of US forces to rapidly reinforce NATO's eastern flank, with the aim of ensuring regional security and deterring potential threats. The event also aims to increase interoperability between NATO allied forces in the face of rising tensions along the Alliance's borders.

British and Estonian troops coordinated the operation, providing logistical and security support. Representatives of the Estonian army noted the importance of such exercises, emphasising the need for the presence of allies to strengthen regional stability.

It should be noted that six HIMARS systems from the United States have recently arrived in Estonia to strengthen NATO's border.
