More gothic and less technofantasy: a blogger compared the visual style of the characters in DOOM: The Dark Ages and DOOM Eternal
There are only a few days left before the release of DOOM: The Dark Ages shooter, which has already A superb shooter with controversial innovations: critics praised DOOM: The Dark Ages. Gamers are counting the days until the next battle with the forces of Hell and especially for them popular blogger ElAnalistaDeBits released an interesting video.
Here's What We Know
The author published a video, in which he compared in detail the appearance and stylistic design of the protagonist and Demons in DOOM: The Dark Ages and in the previous part of the series - DOOM Eternal.
As the developers stated, the new game is dominated by gothic elements, which replaced the classic dark techno-fantasy. This is best seen in the design of Doom Slayer, who received a stylish fur cloak, massive shoulder pad, heavy helmet and brutal shield, while DOOM Eternal had more futuristic elements.
Not to be overlooked is the redesign of familiar monsters, most notably the Revenant, who now resembles Death with a scythe. The iconic Cacodemon has also changed his appearance.
When We Can Expect It
DOOM: The Dark Ages will release on 15 May on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will be available immediately on Game Pass.
