Galaxy S21 receives latest major One UI 7 update based on Android 15 in Europe, Asia and Latin America
Galaxy S21 series smartphones are getting the latest major update - One UI 7, based on Android 15. The update is already available in Asia, Europe and Latin America. The release started on 7 May, first in South Korea and the United States, and now covers even more regions.
Here's What We Know
The update is available for the Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra with G99xBXXUEHYD5 firmware. It weighs over 3 GB and contains the April 2025 security patch. This is the last major update for this series, as the devices were released in 2021 with Android 11 and received the promised four Android updates. In the future, users will only receive security patches for another year.
One UI 7.0 brings a refreshed interface with new system app icons, stylish widgets, smoother animations, and a redesigned Quick Settings panel. It now has two pages that can be opened by swiping left and right.
Other innovations include large folders on the home screen, vertical scrolling in the app menu, a new Now Bar activity bar, and an improved notification system.
The camera has been completely redesigned to make controls more accessible regardless of screen orientation. The photo editor now allows you to create collages in any format or for Stories.
New power-saving features have been added, and Quick Share is now available over the mobile network. Integration with Google Gemini, improved Circle to Search, as well as updates to the calendar, notes and clock round off the Galaxy S21's development.
