Apple plans to order $60 billion worth of chips from TSMC in 2025, up 44% year-on-year. This is reported by the wccftech portal.

This step will significantly increase TSMC's revenues and strengthen Apple's position in the advanced technology market.

Here's What We Know

By providing access to TSMC's 2-nm production lines, the company actually limits its competitors, guaranteeing itself priority in the use of the latest chips.

According to analysts, TSMC has received $90 billion in revenue.

In 2024, Apple ordered NT$624 billion worth of chips, and a new order for $60 billion in 2025 could break this record. According to analysts, this will allow TSMC to significantly increase its revenues, which, in turn, will further enhance the company's importance in the industry. Apple has repeatedly been among the first to use TSMC's latest manufacturing processes, and the company may be the first to introduce chips based on 2-nm technology in its 2026 iPhones.

In addition, Apple's large orders could help TSMC expand its capacity in the US, where the company is actively working to build its fabs. Given the new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, this will help to avoid higher chip import costs and support production in America.

Apple is also considering raising the price of the iPhone 17 without mentioning the tariffs imposed by Trump against China.
