Lenovo has unveiled a new generation of desktops and monitors with a focus on productivity, multitasking, and... artificial intelligence, of course. But if we put aside the "artificially intelligent" epithets, we are dealing with really powerful workstations that are designed for the office, hybrid work and the creative sphere.

New computers and monitors

The ThinkCentre M90t Gen 6 line is a grey full-tower without backlight that will make the hearts of office workers beat faster, because it has an Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2 processor inside. Evolution will reverse and people will get rid of colourful aquariums and buy grey Lenovo towers. Or it won't. After all, these are still the most powerful professional solutions that can be upgraded.

TheThinkCentre M90q Gen 6 is a minicomputer built in a 1-litre case that can be kept on a desk like a Mac Mini or attached to a monitor behind it, completely hiding its presence. These babies are also available in the top-of-the-line Intel Core Ultra 9 configuration, but, for obvious reasons, do not have a discrete graphics card. This line has the maximum possible NPU core performance of 30 TOP for performing AI operations directly on the PC. They can be attached to Lenovo monitors using a proprietary connector.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M90a Gen 6 (AIO ) is an all-in-one computer similar to the iMac. Despite the compact design, they boast AI performance of up to 260 TOPS, which frankly has no place to be used yet. But future professional software will surely find a use for this power.

Lenovo ThinkVision T Series Gen 40 - WQHD and UHD IPS monitors that cover 99% of the sRGB and BT.709 colour gamut and support dynamic refresh rate change in the range of 48-120 Hz (HDMI 2.1 required). The monitors have USB-C ports that support 100W charging of a connected device.

What's the deal with AI?

All new PCs are equipped with AI-core processors (NPU) that accelerate machine learning tasks, from noise reduction during video calls to improving the performance of professional photo and video editors. That is, the calculations are performed not on ChatGPT servers somewhere far away, but directly on the PC.

In November 2024, Lenovo announced Lenovo AI Now, a local AI assistant to work on local hardware. Lenovo has also charged the new products with its new AI Turbo Engine technology, which uses local AI to determine the user's location to change the balance of music and webcam focus depending on the user's location. This technology can also lock the screen if the user is away from the workplace.
