Toyota has officially unveiled the bZ4X Touring, an electric SUV with the boot of a station wagon and a range of up to 560 kilometres
Toyota has extended the European range of the all-electric bZ4X with a new Touring version. It is taller and longer than the regular version, resulting in a boot increase of around 33 per cent.
Here's What We Know
The Touring is 140 mm longer and 20 mm taller than the standard Toyota bZ4X. This has resulted in a noticeable increase in interior space: the boot volume is now 600 litres. The second row of seats has also benefited, thanks to higher ceilings, larger windows and a freer interior layout.
The model has new roof rails with a load capacity of up to 70kg and an increased towing capacity of up to 1,500kg - two features that make the Touring noticeably more suitable for outdoor activities, camping and carrying trailers or tents on the roof.
Like the updated bZ4X, the new version is available with two powertrains, both combined with a 74.7 kW∙h battery. The base one, with a single 224bhp electric motor, is capable of driving up to 560km on the WLTP cycle - a marked improvement over earlier versions of the bZ4X.
The top version will get two motors with a total output of 380 hp and all-wheel drive. This modification also features Toyota's X-Mode system, which improves traction and stability on slippery surfaces. The official range has not yet been announced, but we can expect it to be slightly less than the single-motor version.
Both versions support DC fast charging with a capacity of up to 150 kW. The base version is equipped with an on-board charger for 11 kW, while the all-wheel drive version has a 22 kW charger.
The exterior of the Touring shows motifs of the new Subaru Trailseeker, which will also be available in Europe before the end of the year. However, Toyota has chosen a less aggressive style, with a more streamlined front end and C-shaped daytime running lights.
The interior - like the updated bZ4X - gets a large centre screen for the multimedia system and a massive centre console with compartments for small items.
Toyota bZ4X Touring sales are expected to start in the first half of 2026. Pricing has not yet been announced. Before the restyling, the bZ4X cost from €42,900 - the station wagon is likely to be a few thousand euros more expensive.
