The long-awaited shooter DOOM: The Dark Ages has been released today.

The new game from the famous id Software studio is already available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and is offered for free to Game Pass subscribers.

Gamers are happy to fight hordes of demons and leave great reviews.

Here's What We Know

Since today is Thursday, the peak online is not particularly impressive - on Steam it was 30 thousand people, but surely on the weekend this figure will increase significantly, because the game is definitely worthy of attention and we are ready to give 7 reasons to play DOOM: The Dark Ages.

In the meantime, we'd like to state that the game is significantly inferior to the previous instalments in terms of peak online:

  • DOOM Eternal - 104,891 players at a time;
  • DOOM 2016 - 44,271 players at the same time;
  • DOOM: The Dark Ages - 30,232 players at the same time.

Users left 86% positive reviews, which is a great indicator of the game's quality.

Publisher Bethesda opened the champagne and released a praise trailer with reviews from critics, one of whom even called The Dark Ages "the best piece of DOOM gaming ever released."
