Garmin has introduced the new HRM 600 heart rate monitor, a sports chest strap that allows you to analyse your workouts in detail even without connecting to a smartwatch.

Here's What We Know

The HRM 600 not only measures heart rate but also analyses its variability over time, which gives a deeper understanding of the heart's functioning during exercise. The device supports advanced running metrics - Running Dynamics - that help assess running technique, including stride length, ground contact time and vertical body oscillation. In combination with the new Forerunner 970, you can get Step Speed Loss, which is the loss of speed due to ground contact, to help you improve your running style.

The strap can also be used separately without the smartwatch, for example, when boxing, martial arts or climbing. The device is equipped with a rechargeable battery that holds a charge for up to two months.

The HRM 600 is available for pre-order for $169.99 starting 21 May. Garmin continues to improve its sports devices to help athletes train more efficiently and without compromise.

Garmin is continuing to improve its v15.xx software before releasing a stable version for its flagship Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8 and Tactix 8 watches. The new beta version 15.26 is available for several models and adds support for voice commands in the Applied Ballistics and Flying apps - currently only for the Tactix 8.
