After years of rumours and speculation, Apple has finally stepped up the development of its first foldable iPhone, codenamed iPhone Fold. According to a well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the device will have a radically new design.

Here's What We Know

The new iPhone Fold will have a book-style design with two screens: a 7.8-inch inner one without folds and a 5.5-inch outer one. The main change is that Apple will abandon the signature "bangs" and Dynamic Island, replacing them with a punch-hole on the external display.

But the internal screen will have a camera under the display.

Touch ID is also returning - it will be placed in the power button on the side, as in the iPad Air. This is probably due to the limited space inside the body of a foldable smartphone, where Face ID would take up too much space.

According to analysts, the final design of the iPhone Fold will be approved in June, and the new product is currently being tested at Foxconn factories. Mass production could start in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the launch could take place at the end of next year.

As for the cost, the price of the first foldable iPhone could range from $2,000 to $2,300.

Interestingly, at the same time as the iPhone Fold, a special model is being prepared for the 20th anniversary of the iPhone - with a bezel-less design, no cutouts in the screen and a battery made of 100% silicone.
