Amazon has started to provide access to its updated Alexa+ voice assistant to more users who have joined the Early Access programme.

Here's What We Know

The company announced this on Friday, 16 May, by sending notifications to the participants of the latest launch wave. Alexa+ is a smarter, more conversational version of the Alexa voice assistant that can perform more complex tasks.

The first Alexa+ demonstrations took place back in February, and the first users got access to it in March, including owners of Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 devices. According to an Amazon representative, "hundreds of thousands" of users have already tested the new assistant. However, the first version of Alexa+ lacked some features that the company mentioned during the announcement.

According to The Washington Post, some features remain in development because they did not meet Amazon's internal standards for public release.

How to activate

In order to activate Alexa+, it is enough to set it up on one compatible device - other connected gadgets will be updated automatically.

Alexa+ is expected to make interacting with the voice assistant more natural and help users solve more complex everyday tasks. Implementation continues in stages, and even more users will get access in the near future.
