The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and approved the Ukrainian-made KRAMPUS mobile flamethrower strike system for use in the Armed Forces.

Here's What We Know

KRAMPUS is designed to perform assault and defensive tasks. Its compact dimensions and light weight allow it to be placed in the back of a pickup truck, minibus or trailer.

The vehicle is equipped with two silent electric motors and a tracked chassis, which ensures high cross-country ability in difficult conditions - off-road, forest thickets, sand, mud and steep slopes. The system is controlled through channels protected from electronic interference.

The system operates in any weather: in heat, cold, snow and rain. The battery capacity is enough for several hours of autonomous operation, which allows it to remain in combat readiness for a long time.

The KRAMPUS is equipped with surveillance cameras and a combat module with RPV-16 rocket-propelled infantry flamethrowers capable of effectively destroying enemy manpower, fortifications and lightly armoured vehicles.

The RPV-16 is a Ukrainian jet infantry flamethrower that, upon detonation, sprays an aerosol cloud 7-8 metres in diameter, which explodes in 0.2 seconds, creating a fire zone with a temperature of up to 2500°C and overpressure.

One shot from the RPV-16 is equivalent in power to a 122 mm artillery shell and has an additional fragmentation effect to increase effectiveness. The maximum range of the flamethrower is 600 metres, and the maximum range is up to 1 km. The flamethrower weighs 11kg including the warhead.
