Nintendo Switch 2 will retain cartridges - photos of new game boxes have appeared
The Nintendo Switch 2 continues the tradition of its predecessor in many ways, including in the format of physical media. Like the first generation, the new console will use cartridges to run games. And recently, the first images of boxes for physical copies have appeared.

Here's What We Know
X (Twitter) user @Genki_JPN posted a photo of new boxes for Nintendo Switch 2 games. They are completely identical in size to the cases for the original Switch. The main visual difference is the red colour, which replaces the transparent plastic of the previous version.
Several pictures also show the inside of the box - the changes here are minimal, which indicates Nintendo's desire to maintain the familiar packaging format familiar to millions of users.
The global release of Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for 5 June. The company is expected to reveal even more details in the coming weeks.
