New information about the upcoming Galaxy Watch series, which will be presented in July, has appeared online. Although users were expecting significant improvements, the leaked data made it clear that the batteries of the upcoming watches did not experience a major breakthrough.

Here's What We Know

According to SammyGuru, the official documentation reveals certificates for several Galaxy Watch models, including two basic and one unknown version.

Galaxy Watch 8 will come in two sizes: 40 mm and 44 mm, like the previous models. The battery capacity will be 325 mAh for 40 mm and 435 mAh for 44 mm. For comparison, the Galaxy Watch 7 had 300 and 425 mAh, respectively.

In addition, the SM-L505F model is mentioned, which is likely to be a premium model. Although the name is still unknown, it is expected to be a Classic version, not an Ultra or Pro, as its battery has only 450 mAh. Ultra or Pro models usually have a capacity of more than 500 mAh.

Thus, Samsung has not yet decided to seriously increase the battery capacity of its smartwatches. Users are hoping for the introduction of silicon-carbon batteries, which can provide longer operating time on a single charge.

Recently, Android Authority journalists gained access to the One UI 8 firmware files for the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Classic and found icons that show the design of the gadgets.

It is known that the eighth generation of Samsung smartwatches will receive LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 and run on Wear OS.
