Dell creates Pro Max Plus laptop with a separate processor for artificial intelligence
Dell has officially unveiled the new Pro Max Plus mobile work laptop, which is focused exclusively on artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
Its main highlight is the Qualcomm AI 100 PC Inference Card, a discrete processor for AI tasks, making it the world's first laptop with an enterprise NPU.
This AI card has 32 specialised cores and 64 GB of memory dedicated exclusively to artificial intelligence. According to Dell, the laptop is capable of working with large language models of up to 109 billion parameters, a level previously only available in server solutions.
Pro Max Plus is not designed for the mass market, but for data scientists, AI engineers, and enterprises implementing their own models. It is not surprising that the company has not yet released the full specification of the device, including information about the processor, graphics card, or display.
Although laptops with AI accelerators have appeared before, for example, Microsoft's Surface Laptop Studio 2 with the Movidius VPU chip, Dell is taking a much more ambitious step. This launch is only the beginning of the Pro Max Plus series, but this model will become the flagship of the company's AI business.
The price and release date have not been revealed yet, but we are following the updates.
Dell recently introduced affordable 14 Plus laptops with AMD Krackan Point for $800.
