Officially presented today Toyota RAV4 sixth generation crossover Toyota RAV4 new generation of active safety complex Toyota Safety Sense. The latter is based on the Arene software platform, thanks to which new functions appeared in the model.

Here's What We Know

The list of innovations opens the system "Front Cross Traffic Alert", which is able to recognise the movement of traffic in front of the car at busy intersections and warn the driver visually and audibly in case of a threat of collision.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) is now complemented by 'Rear Vehicle Approach Indicator', which signals vehicles approaching quickly from behind - particularly useful when driving on motorways. It helps to react in advance to potentially dangerous situations.

Another new feature is the advanced Lane Change Assist, which works in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. When the indicator is switched on, the system checks blind spots and, if there are no threats, helps to complete the re-building with the help of thrusting.

The Collision Prevention System (PCS) now better recognises oncoming cars, cyclists and motorcyclists as well as obstacles. If a collision is imminent, automatic braking is activated. Additionally, when the airbags deploy, a new Secondary Collision Brake function is activated, which stops the car if the driver is unable to do so himself.

Also, the new RAV4 has a remote parking system Advanced Park, which can be controlled from a smartphone. At the same time, Advanced Panoramic View with three-dimensional image is offered for parking behind the wheel.

Finally, all of these systems can be updated over the air, allowing Toyota Safety Sense to continually improve and receive new features without the need to visit a service centre.

Sales of the new Toyota RAV4 are expected to start in the spring of 2026.
