New Nissan Micra unveiled ahead of European sales launch
Nissan has unveiled the new, sixth generation Micra. This time without internal combustion engines - the compact hatchback has become fully electric, built on the basis of Renault 5.
Here's What We Know
The sixth-generation Micra uses a common platform with the Renault 5, but is characterised by original design elements. In particular, the car received redesigned front and rear parts of the body with round headlights and a different design of the stern. The sides have also changed: under the line of glazing there is a wide notch. However, the 'hidden' rear handles in the pillars remain, as well as the five-door configuration.
Micra remains one of the most compact cars in the class: length is less than four metres, width - just under 1.8 metres, and wheelbase - 2.54 metres. Despite its modest size, the hatchback can be fitted with 18-inch diameter wheels - there are three designs to choose from, including hubcaps.
The interior is almost entirely borrowed from the Renault 5. On the front panel there are two 10.1-inch displays, slightly turned towards the driver. Under the centre air ducts are the physical controls. An interesting feature is the interior lighting, available in 48 shades - a rarity for the B-Class.

Micra will receive two battery options: a basic one with 40 kWh and an increased capacity of 52 kWh. In the first case, the electric motor develops 90 kW (122 hp) and 225 N-m, in the second - 110 kW (150 hp) and 245 N-m. The range is up to 310 kilometres on the smaller battery and up to 408 kilometres on the larger one (on the WLTP cycle). The weight of the car varies from 1,400 to 1,524 kg depending on the configuration.
The Micra will be produced at Renault's plant in Doué (France), where the Renault 5 is produced from 2024. European sales of the new electric car will start before the end of 2025.
