Less than three years after its launch, Sony is stopping recruitment and phasing out the PlayStation Stars programme, which gave players the opportunity to receive exclusive digital collectibles and other rewards. However, the company has promised that new initiatives for loyal fans are possible in the future.

Here's What We Know

In 2022, Sony introduced PlayStation Stars, a unique loyalty programme that allowed active players to receive digital collectibles and even games for participating in various gaming activities. The programme was quite popular among PlayStation fans, but now, less than three years later, Sony has announced its gradual closure.

PlayStation Stars has stopped accepting new participants. Already registered players will be able to continue to level up and receive digital rewards until 23 July. After this date, new campaigns and rewards will no longer be available, but it will be possible to use the accumulated points and receive rewards for them until 2 November 2026. Sony has also confirmed that all digital collectibles received will remain with users even after the programme ends.

In a statement, Sony thanked all PlayStation Stars members for their support and noted that "this version" of the programme is coming to an end. The company promises to analyse the experience and develop new formats in the future to reward loyal players.
