Shigeru Miyamoto, the developer of iconic Nintendo games, encourages young developers not to chase trends but to focus on finding new ideas. In his interview, he said that the real pleasure in work is creating something original, not trying to surpass the latest hit.

Here's What We Know

The gaming industry has always been cruel: new hits appear faster than the previous ones even have time to warm up. Against this backdrop, Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary Nintendo designer, admits that he is concerned about how young developers try to put all their energy into the race for popularity.

"I always tell young people that trying to catch up with the trend or surpass the latest hit is very difficult," Miyamoto said in a conversation with IGN. In his opinion, it is much more important to strive to create something new rather than simply copy successful projects.

Miyamoto himself is inspired by the creativity of his colleagues, and this allows him to remain energetic and open to innovation. "I have the opportunity to work with creative people, and it gives me an incentive for new ideas," he explained.

The legendary developer emphasises that the process of coming up with something new is not only a challenge but also a real pleasure. "Creating new experiences is a lot of fun," Miyamoto added.
