In May, Rockstar Games released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. It has garnered hundreds of millions of views, so it was inevitable that fans would start creating their own versions and reinterpretations of the original trailer. And now, one enthusiast has released a remake of the GTA 6 trailer in the style of the PlayStation 2.

Here's What We Know

The PS2-style Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer was posted on YouTube by a user named Foosmoke. In this video, you can see nostalgic details. For example, during the robbery of a store by Jason, there is a characteristic PS2-era "clipping" (passing objects through each other), which accurately reflects the games of that time. In addition, Jason seems to have a harder time lifting weights in this version than in the real trailer.

The Vice City that appears in this trailer remake is noticeably less populated than what we saw in the original.

Recently, Digital Foundry published an in-depth analysis of the second GTA 6 trailer and concluded that the game will not be able to run on Nintendo Switch 2, despite the new system's significantly improved hardware. This PS2-style version of the game would probably be suitable for both Switch versions, but who would want to play this simplified version after seeing what GTA 6 actually looks like?

As a reminder, GTA 6 will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 on 26 May 2026.
