One of the most discussed features of the Nintendo Switch 2 was GameChat, mostly due to its link to the C button and the need to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online after the first year of use. At the same time, Nintendo has paid considerable attention to security issues: according to the official information on the website, to use the feature, you need to confirm the mobile number linked to your Nintendo account.

Here's What We Know

Confirmation takes place via SMS, but GameChat is not available for users under the age of 16. To activate communication, children need parental approval and must add a phone number through the parental control system.

For those who don't plan to use GameChat, phone number linking is currently an option - although the company promises to provide more details closer to the launch date. GameChat allows you to organise video calls with up to four participants, but it requires a special camera from Nintendo. Audio communication supports up to 24 people.

The official launch of Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for 5 June. Information on the cost of the camera and other accessories can be found on the manufacturer's website.
