Destruction on the verge: The Finals introduces Heavy Hitters - a mode for those who like to smash everything with hammers
The free-to-play shooter The Finals continues to amaze with its experimental modes - the new Heavy Hitters event allows players to arrange a real chaotic competition, where the main thing is to knock opponents out of the arena with powerful blows. In addition to this, the update brings new cosmetic items and balance.
Here's What We Know
If you like The Finals for the opportunity to destroy everything around you, the new Heavy Hitters mode is exactly what you need. This is a 5-on-5 battle where everyone plays as heavy characters with huge hammers, as well as access to jumppads, anti-gravity cubes, and slime grenades. The arena resembles a construction site floating in the air, and this is where the craziest fights take place.
The main goal of Heavy Hitters is to throw opponents out of the arena. There is an unusual mechanic here: characters do not die from health loss, but the more blows you receive, the less gravity affects you. That is, the more you are hit, the further you fly out of the arena - until you find yourself outside it with no chance of returning.
Another interesting detail is that you can get additional rewards for completing contracts sponsored by the fictional energy drink Ospuze.
In addition to the new mode, the 6.9 update brought several tiger cosmetic items, such as a tail, striped nails, and other accessories. A number of important changes have also been made to weapon balance, especially for the KS-23 shotgun, which has become more accurate in all situations. As always, bug fixes have been added, including for animations and cosmetics.
The Heavy Hitters mode is available now, and it is likely to remain in the game until the start of The Finals Season 7 in June.
