Half-Life 3 will put an end to the iconic franchise: an insider has revealed Valve's plans and they may upset a lot of people
Numerous hints and reports from insiders and data miners suggest that in 2025 Valve will fulfil the dream of gamers and release Half-Life 3.
Millions of fans are eagerly waiting for the continuation of Gordon Freeman's story and hope that the release of the third part will give the franchise a new life. But it seems that the developers have other plans.
Here's What We Know
Authoritative insider Daniel Richtman on his Patreon page said that Valve considers Half-Life 3 as the final part of the series and has no plans to continue it.
The authors will draw a line under all the storylines, fill the gaps in the history, connect the plot of the new game with the events of Half-Life Alyx shooter and put an end to the famous sci-fi franchise.
It's hard to say whether it's good or bad news, but practice has shown that sometimes it's better for developers to stop in time and finish the series on a high note, than to wallow in self-repeating and copying other people's ideas.
By the way, Richtman mentioned that after Half-Life 3 release, Valve will take another incredible step and release Portal 3.
