After the explosion, a fire broke out on the territory of the technology park. Local residents heard a series of explosions and the sounds of air defence systems. Astra published a video from the scene showing the aftermath of the strike - at least one building was damaged.
The Elma-Zelenograd technology park, which unites more than 150 companies on an area of 60,000 square metres, specialises in electronics, control and measurement equipment, IT, optics and scientific research. Russian telegram channels began reporting on the drone flights and explosions near Zelenograd before dawn.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the attack allegedly caused no serious damage or casualties. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defence, as usual, reported the downing of 296 drones in just one night - from the evening of 27 to the morning of 28 May - over several regions, including the Moscow region.
In short, Zelenograd, located 37 kilometres northwest of the centre of Moscow, is considered the main research and production centre of Russian microelectronics.
